There are several types of Handpans, developed over the years from the original instrument invented in Switzerland in 2000. The steel drums played in Trinidad and Tobago are also a kind of pan. While the Caribbean steel drums are played with sticks, Handpans are meant to be played with the hands.
The sound this drum produces is so pure and mesmerizing. Im amazed by the clarity and sustain. Its very easy to play and sounds wonderful even when youre just tapping randomly. Ive used it for meditation and relaxationits perfect for unwinding after a long day!
